I’ve always found great comfort in food. I know I’m really stressed when I can’t eat. I’ve been focused on deep breathing, prayer, relaxing baths, essential oils, the warmth of holding my tea cup and the beautiful rich colors of the berries I’ve eaten. And then in those moments when I don’t have the time to do any of these I just put myself back to these in my mind. This has been a huge lesson to me that sugary carbs can’t fix my stress. I wanted to write You and Diana a Thank You for the RESTORE renewal detox.  It was very helpful to “tweak” some things that I had let slide and am now cautious about what I put into my mouth and try to make a decision before I go somewhere to be tempted to eat nutrition less, toxic sugary stuff. I did lose a few pounds which is always great and my energy is so much better! Other then a caffeine free headache the first day, I did not have any struggles with this detox. This is my 3rd time doing this type of cleanse and this time what stood out to me the most was it helped me identify my weak spots with food. This was my first detox and I must say I never thought I could do it! Prior to this my days started with coffee, ended with wine and was filled with meals or snacks on the run with whatever was convenient or available. Food prep was virtually nonexistent and meal planning was solely referring to having lunch ready to go for my one year old. Having the recipes was absolutely critical for me because it got me into cooking more than I usually do during the week and while the shopping and prep was time-consuming, I loved trying new recipes, especially knowing they were good for us! Here I am a couple days post detox and I have no idea what to introduce first because I don’t miss a thing. I feel far more energetic, productive, alert and I am sleeping much better! My only regret in this whole process is that other than my sister, none of you know how unlikely a detox candidate I was before this . Thanks for all your guidance, expertise and encouragement!

What a great couple weeks!! I celebrated last night with a hot coco at work – that was a good learning experience…! Stomach ache and headache pretty quickly. My body likes the no sugar/no dairy, that’s for sure.
